Key Features:
8x magnification with 32mm HD objectives for bright, sharp images that hold up into the twilight
Laser rangefinder reaching 2,800m on reflective targets and around 700m on deer
True range slope compensation gives the corrected distance for shots taken up or down a hill
Weighs just 700g in a magnesium body compact enough for a coat pocket or bino harness
Four measurements per second with a scan mode for following moving quarry or sweeping a hillside
Nine display brightness levels plus an automatic mode for dusk-to-daylight readability
Onboard temperature, humidity and air pressure readings to inform a long-range shot
Rangefinding binoculars earn their place when carrying a separate laser unit becomes one thing too many on the hill, and this is where the Rangeguide 2800 makes its case. It puts an 8x32 binocular and a laser rangefinder in a single magnesium housing that tips the scales at just 700g, so you glass, range and decide without ever lowering the glass or reaching for a second device.
The optics come first, as they should. The double-HD lens system and GPObright coatings give a bright, natural image with a 135m field of view at 1,000m, which is generous for a 32mm binocular and holds up well into the twilight when deer tend to move. Focus is quick from 8m close focus out to infinity, and the 18mm eye relief suits spectacle wearers.
The laser is the other half of the story. It ranges reflective targets out to 2,800m, trees to around 1,000m and deer to roughly 700m, taking up to four readings a second in scan mode so you can follow moving quarry or sweep a hillside. True range slope compensation does the trigonometry for you on steep ground, and the unit also reads temperature, humidity and air pressure, all of which matter when you are working out a long-range hold. Readings appear on a red OLED display with nine brightness levels plus an automatic setting.
It is waterproof, fog-proof and backed by German Precision Optics' lifetime warranty, with a hard case, neoprene strap and lens covers included. For the hill stalker or deer manager who wants premium ranging glass in the smallest, lightest package that still performs, this is one of the most sensible compact rangefinder binoculars on the market.
Beneath the high-quality exterior design lies a magnesium housing with a magnesium bridge. The x32 RANGEGUIDE weighs a mere 700g and is extremely compact. The highly coated HD lens system with a red OLED display boasts brilliant optics and unique fields of view of 135m (at 1000m). Thanks to GPO's optoelectronic expertise, we were able to make it even more powerful: Like its big brother, it measures targets at distances of 2.8 km, has an integrated protractor, and is extremely fast, taking four measurements per second. In addition to the manually adjustable illumination control with nine levels, it also has an automatic illumination control level (depending on ambient brightness). It measures not only temperature but also air pressure and humidity. The comprehensive scope of delivery includes eyepiece and lens caps, a neoprene carrying strap, and a hard case for safe transport.

Up to 2,800m on highly reflective targets, around 1,000m on trees and roughly 700m on deer, with a minimum range of 6m. It takes up to four readings a second, so scan mode can track a moving animal or sweep across a hillside. The "2800" in the name refers to that maximum reflective range in metres.
Both share the same body, laser engine and features. The 8x32 gives a wider field of view, 135m at 1,000m against 112m on the 10x32, plus slightly more eye relief at 18mm, which makes it easier to hold steady and quicker to get onto a target. That suits stalking and general glassing. The 10x32 trades some of that width for extra magnification and reach, which is the better pick if you spend more time picking apart detail at distance. Weight and ranging performance are effectively the same.
Those are the models most buyers weigh it against, and the honest answer is that it does the same job, premium glass with built-in ranging, at a noticeably lower price. Reviewers consistently rate its optics and ranging highly for the money, and the compact 700g magnesium body is among the lightest in its class. The German and Austrian flagships still hold an edge right at the top end, but the Rangeguide covers the same ground for a good deal less and carries GPO's lifetime warranty.
It runs on a single CR2 battery, and one is supplied. The housing is waterproof and fog-proof, so it will handle rain and damp mornings without complaint. It is backed by German Precision Optics' lifetime warranty.
