We hold over 30 reflex sights at Bromsgrove, and many of them are Holosun. That covers the subcompact 407K and 507K, the full-size 507 Comp and 507 ProMax built for competition, the enclosed EPS and 509T, and the DRS-TH thermal reflex sight. UTG's OP3 Micro range sits at the value end on the Docter footprint. Most are on the RMR pattern, so they drop straight onto a Gallery Rifle or long-barrelled pistol slide cut without an adaptor plate. Sights ship UK-wide with no RFD transfer. Yes. Handgun-footprint reflex sights are widely used in Great Britain on long-barrelled pistols, Gallery Rifle, rimfire and section 1 semi-autos, and offset on carbines. The sight itself is an unrestricted accessory, so no shotgun or firearms certificate is needed to buy one and nothing transfers through an RFD.
Open-emitter sights like the 407C X3 and 507C X3 are lighter, cheaper and have a lower dot height for co-witnessing with iron sights. Enclosed models such as the EPS and 509T seal the emitter against rain, mud and lint, which is worth the extra bulk for field and duty use.
Red is the standard and the cheapest. Green at 540nm reads brighter to most eyes and holds up against foliage. Gold at 590nm keeps contrast on bright targets and busy backgrounds where red washes out. We stock the 407C X3 and 507C X3 in all three, so it comes down to your eyes and your backdrop.
On the side-loading models, yes. The 407C X3, 507C X3 and 507 Comp take the cell from a side tray, so the sight stays mounted and zeroed. Solar Failsafe keeps them running in daylight if the battery does die. We stock the CR1632 and CR2032 cells these take.
Most of our Holosun open reflex sights use the RMR footprint, including the 407C X3, 507C X3 and 507 Comp. Subcompact 407K and 507K models use the K footprint. The enclosed EPS ships with an RMR-to-EPS adapter plate. UTG's OP3 Micro range uses the Docter footprint.
