The FX Pocket D1 Pro Chronograph is a Doppler radar chrono reading 200 to 4,500 fps, with on-board BC estimation, weather sensors and a rifle mount for airgun to centrefire use.
The FX Pocket D1 Pro Chronograph is the one to choose when your cabinet holds more than air rifles. The smaller Pocket D1 Chronograph reads to 1,250 fps, which is ample for tuning a PCP or springer, and if air is all you shoot it does the job. Once rimfire or centrefire enters the picture, the Pro is the model that keeps up.
The BC function is where airgunners and rimfire shooters gain most, because it runs in the low range. Choose GA for diabolo pellets or RA4 for .22 rimfire, put ten consistent shots through it from one lot, and you get a figure from your own barrel rather than the one printed on the box. Set the display to foot-pounds, enter the pellet weight, and it doubles as a quick check that a sub-12 ft-lb air rifle sits where it should.
On the rifle, the mount arm holds the unit at a fixed distance from the barrel, which makes readings repeatable from one session to the next. Tested to 6.5 Creedmoor recoil, the arm suits air rifles, rimfire and lighter centrefire, and the tripod handles anything heavier from the bench. Charge it fully before the first outing and pair it with the FX Radar app, which sets the clock and can feed in the air temperature for BC work.
It suits the shooter who tunes air rifles, runs load development on a centrefire, or practises timed precision stages, and would rather own one radar chronograph than one for each.

The D1 reads up to 1,250 fps and is built around air rifles, with a quick release barrel or Picatinny mount. The Pro reads from 200 to 4,500 fps and adds ballistic coefficient estimation, environmental sensors, PRS Mode and a tripod. If you only shoot air rifles, the D1 covers it. If rimfire or centrefire is in the mix, choose the Pro.
Yes. Select High Range when starting a session, which covers roughly 1,800 to 4,500 fps. The gun mount arm is tested to 6.5 Creedmoor recoil, so heavier calibres are better measured with the unit on its tripod beside the rifle. Keep it level with or slightly behind the muzzle, clear of muzzle blast and ejected cases.
The radar tracks how quickly the projectile slows over distance, then corrects for temperature, pressure, humidity and shooting angle. Pick a drag model (GA for pellets, RA4 for rimfire, G1 or G7 for rifle bullets) and fire at least ten consistent shots from one lot. It works in Low Range, for projectiles travelling up to 1,280 fps.
It has an internal rechargeable battery charged over USB-C. A full charge takes 2 to 3 hours and gives around 8 to 10 hours of continuous use. The unit does not measure while it is charging, so top it up the night before a range day. For long breaks, FX recommends storing it at about half charge.
Yes. Doppler radar does not rely on light, so it reads the same indoors, outdoors, in shade or at dusk, unlike optical screen chronographs. What it does need is a clear path in front of the radar face, with the projectile able to travel at least 20 metres downrange, and nothing such as grass or kit blocking the beam.
