A fixed 4x32 Mil Dot scope built for air rifle and rimfire work at sensible distances. The Hawke Fast Mount 4x32 arrives with 9-11mm dovetail mounts in the box, so there is nothing else to buy before it goes on the rifle.
Key Features:
Fixed 4x magnification with no zoom ring to knock out of position
32mm objective and 8mm exit pupil for a bright picture in poor light
Mil dot reticle providing repeatable holdover references at known distances
1/4 MOA turrets with 165 MOA of adjustment available in each direction
9-11mm dovetail mounts supplied in the box to fit most air rifles and rimfires
Compact at 295 mm and 315 g so it sits low and adds little weight
Nitrogen purged and waterproof, covered by Hawke's No-Fault Lifetime Warranty
Fixed magnification scopes have quietly gone out of fashion, which is a shame, because for close-range airgun and rimfire shooting a 4x with nothing to fiddle with is usually the right answer. The Hawke Fast Mount 4x32 Mil Dot is built squarely for that job. You get 9.5 m of view at 100 m, 89 mm of eye relief and an 8 mm exit pupil, which together make the sight picture easy to find in a hurry and forgiving of an imperfect cheek weld.
Parallax is fixed at 91 m rather than adjustable. At 4x the depth of field is generous enough that targets at 20 or 30 yards stay perfectly usable, but this is not a scope for ranging or for critical close-focus benchwork. The mil dot marks are best treated as repeatable holdover references you learn on paper, not as a true ranging reticle at this magnification. Turrets are capped and low profile, adjusting in quarter MOA clicks with 165 MOA of travel.
One point of honesty about the chassis. It is a one inch split tube rather than a mono-tube, so while it copes happily with rimfire and pre-charged rifles, the heaviest recoiling springers are better served elsewhere in the range. Mounts are included, which is where the name comes from.
Sensible first glass for a springer, PCP or .22 rimfire used inside 50 yards, and hard to fault at the price.

Realistically, inside 50 yards. Fixed 4x is plenty of magnification for airgun quarry at 20 to 35 yards, which is where most sub-12 ft·lbs shooting actually happens, and it works equally well on a .22 rimfire at similar ranges. Push much beyond that and the lack of zoom starts to tell. If you are regularly shooting past 50 yards, the 3-9x40 in the same range is the better buy.
No. Parallax is fixed at 91 m, so there is no adjustable objective to focus. In practice the depth of field at 4x is generous enough that a target at 25 yards remains sharp and usable, but you cannot dial out parallax error the way you can on an AO scope, and you cannot use the objective ring to estimate range. If close-focus precision matters to you, look at the Fast Mount 3-9x40 AO instead.
Different jobs. The 4x32 is lighter, shorter, brighter at the eye and has nothing to knock out of position, which suits hunting and general plinking where you want to raise the rifle and shoot. The 3-9x40 gives you an adjustable objective and the option to wind up magnification for smaller targets or longer shots, at the cost of size, weight and a little brightness. Most people who shoot inside 40 yards are better served by the fixed 4x than they expect.
On a mild springer, yes. On the heaviest recoiling ones, choose something else. This is a one inch split-tube chassis rather than a mono-tube, and the double shunt recoil a powerful springer generates is hard on split tubes over time. It is entirely happy on pre-charged rifles, gas rams of ordinary output and rimfires.
