Swarovski CL Pocket 8x25 binoculars in anthracite, supplied with the Mountain accessory package. A genuine pocket binocular that folds to 110 mm and weighs around 350 g, without the optical compromise compacts usually ask for.
Key Features:
8x magnification on 25 mm objectives for a bright, steady image in a body you will actually carry
Folds to 110 mm and 345 g so they live in a jacket pocket rather than a pack
119 m field of view at 1,000 m for tracking moving deer, dogs or birds without losing them
88 per cent light transmission holds colour and contrast well into the evening
Twist-in eyecups and 17 mm eye relief give spectacle wearers the full 6.8 degree field
Sealed and inert gas filled, submersible to 4 m, and rated from -25 to +55 °C
Mountain accessory package includes an orange field bag and rope-style carrying strap
Compact binoculars have a poor reputation, mostly because most of them are built to a price. These are not. The CL Pocket 8x25 folds on a double hinge to 110 mm and 345 g, drops into a jacket pocket, then opens out to a view that holds its own against far larger glass.
You get 8x magnification on 25 mm objectives, 88 per cent light transmission and a 119 m field of view at 1,000 m. That combination suits anyone glassing on the move: hill stalkers checking a face before committing to the climb, keepers doing the rounds, anyone who would rather have binoculars with them than binoculars back in the truck. The 3.1 mm exit pupil is the honest limit. In the last few minutes of light a 42 mm objective will still show you more. Everything up to that point, these handle without complaint.
Twist-in eyecups and 17 mm of eye relief mean spectacle wearers keep the whole 6.8 degree field, and the 2.5 m close focus is short enough for the hedge at the bottom of the garden as well as a beast at 400. The housing is sealed and gas filled, submersible to 4 m and rated down to -25 °C, which puts a wet October morning firmly in the non-event category. Interpupillary adjustment runs from 50 to 74 mm, so they fit narrower faces than most full-size glass will.
This is the anthracite body with the Mountain accessory package, which adds an orange field bag and a rope-style carrying strap. The alternative Wild Nature pack pairs with the green body if you would rather they disappeared against a hedgerow. Either way, the right choice for a stalker or rough shooter who wants Swarovski optics without carrying Swarovski bulk.

Yes. Eye relief is 17 mm and the twist-up eyecups wind down flush, so with glasses on you still get the full 6.8 degree field rather than a tunnel view. Set the eyecups fully down for spectacles and wind them out to the first or second stop without. Dioptre adjustment runs to plus or minus 5.
The binocular is identical, only the bag and strap change. The Mountain pack supplies an orange field bag and a rope-style carrying strap, aimed at hill use where a bright bag is easier to find in a pack. Wild Nature uses more muted case materials. Pick on how you carry rather than optics.
The 8x25 is the better all-rounder. Its 3.1 mm exit pupil beats the 10x25's 2.5 mm, so it holds up longer at dusk, and the wider field makes finding and tracking movement quicker. Take the 10x25 only if most of your glassing is across open ground where reach matters more than light.
he binocular weighs 345 g and measures 110 mm long, 98 mm wide and 46 mm deep when folded. The double-hinge bridge lets the barrels fold underneath, which is what makes the difference between a compact that lives in a jacket pocket and one that ends up left at home.
Not entirely, and it is worth being straight about that. The 3.1 mm exit pupil and 14.2 twilight factor are good for the size, but a 42 mm binocular will still show you more in the final minutes of legal light. These are for the shooter who wants usable glass on them all day, not the one glassing a field edge at dusk.
Yes. The housing is sealed and inert gas filled, submersible to 4 m, and rated to operate from -25 to +55 °C, so rain and condensation are not a concern. Rinse salt or grit off with clean water before wiping, and use the supplied cloth rather than a shirt sleeve on the coated lenses.
