Optics
A well-chosen optic transforms your rifle or shotgun from a point-and-hope instrument into a precise, repeatable shooting system. We stock a broad range of shooting optics to cover every discipline we serve at Shooting Supplies. From airgun plinking and HFT through to deer stalking, foxing, clay shooting, and long-range precision rifle work. Rifle Scopes Our rifle scopes cover the full magnification spectrum, from compact 1-4x LPVOs for driven hunts and straight-pull carbines through to fixed-parallax 3-9x all-rounders, and high-magnification 4-25x and 5-30x scopes built for long-range precision. We stock scopes from Hawke, Vortex, Schmidt & Bender, Swarovski, and more with both first and second focal plane options, mil and MOA turrets, and illuminated reticles. If you're matching a scope to a specific rifle, a bolt-action stalking rifle, a .17 HMR rimfire, a PRS rig, or an air rifle, we can help you pick optics with the right magnification, reticle, and eye relief for the job. Night Vision & Thermal Imaging For foxing, rat shooting, and legal overnight pest control, we stock digital night vision rifle scopes, day-and-night hybrid units, clip-on add-ons, and dedicated thermal imaging scopes and monoculars. Pulsar, HIKMICRO, and similar thermal brands now cover entry-level handheld monoculars right through LRF-equipped rifle scopes capable of detecting quarry well beyond practical shooting range. Red Dot Sights, Reflex Sights & Holographic Sights For straight-pull rifles, practical shotguns, section 1 semi-autos, and air pistols, a red dot or reflex sight often beats magnified glass. We stock Holosun, Bushnell, and other makes across open reflex, enclosed reflex, tube-style red dots, and true holographic sights. Magnifiers, riser mounts, and picatinny adaptors are available to complete the setup. Binoculars, Spotting Scopes & Rangefinders For glassing, scoring, and range estimation we stock binoculars suited to stalking, clay shooting, and general field use, alongside spotting scopes for target shooting disciplines and laser rangefinders. All pair naturally with the scopes and rifles we carry. Mounts, Rails & Optics Accessories An optic is only as good as its mounting system. Browse picatinny rails, dovetail mounts, weaver bases, scope rings, flip-up lens covers, turret caps, batteries, and tripods to complete your setup. All of our optics are available for fast UK delivery, or collection from our Bromsgrove shop in Worcestershire. If you need help matching an optic to a specific rifle or intended use, contact us or visit us in person.

Reloading
The Components of Consistency: Powder & Primers Successful load development relies on the stability of your consumables. In the UK, temperature sensitivity is a major factor for the year-round stalker. This is why we stock a wide range of Vihtavuori and Hodgdon powders , known for their clean-burning properties and predictable pressure curves across varying climates. Pairing the right powder with a consistent ignition source such as our Federal or CCI Primers is the foundation of every accurate load. Transitioning to Lead-Free Components With the UK’s shift toward non-toxic ammunition, many handloaders are re-evaluating their projectile choices. Transitioning to monolithic copper bullets (like the Hornady CX) requires a shift in technical thinking. These projectiles are longer than lead equivalents and often require faster twist rates and specific seating depths to achieve optimal stabilisation. We provide the technical components and the expertise to help you navigate this transition without sacrificing terminal performance. Expert Equipment for Every Stage Whether you are a high-volume pistol calibre reloader or a long-range precision rifle shooter, your hardware matters. We carry Lee Precision for accessible, high-quality entry points, and RCBS or Lyman for heavy duty, lifetime-service bench tools. By separating our reloading inventory from our factory ammunition, we ensure that the dedicated handloader finds exactly what they need from ultrasonic cleaners to precision micrometer dies without the noise of off-the-shelf alternatives.

Maintenance & Cleaning
A regular cleaning routine is the single most important thing a shooter can do to protect the accuracy, reliability and resale value of a firearm. Every shot leaves behind powder residue, carbon fouling and copper deposits, and exposure to damp conditions, particularly in the UK climate, can quickly cause corrosion on blued and carbon steel surfaces. Our Gun Cleaning & Maintenance section brings together every product needed to strip, clean, lubricate and store a firearm properly between outings. Shotgun owners will find dedicated cleaning kits in 12 bore, 20 bore and .410, along with Bisley and Napier wool mops, phosphor bronze brushes and pull-throughs sized for each gauge. For rifle shooters, we stock precision cleaning rods, bore guides, jags and brushes in every common calibre from .17 HMR and .22 rimfire right through to .308, .30-06 and larger centrefire cartridges. Bolt-action stalkers, target rifle shooters and practical disciplines are all catered for, with a strong selection of Bore Tech patches, cleaning chemicals and solvents trusted on the competition circuit. Day-to-day upkeep is covered by our range of gun oils, greases and cleaning cloths. Napier VP90, Clenzoil Field & Range, Bisley Gun Oil and Pro-Shot One Step are all stocked, alongside stock oils and conditioners for walnut and laminated furniture. For refurbishment and touch-up work, the bluing section includes cold bluing solutions, pens and kits from Birchwood Casey and other established names. Air rifle shooters are not forgotten. The .177 and .22 cleaning pellets, pull-throughs, airgun-specific oils and compact kits are all grouped together to make choosing the right product straightforward. Cleaning mats and gun vices protect the gun and the work surface, and our jags, mops and brushes section means replacement parts for almost any cleaning rod thread are available off the shelf. Whether gearing up for the start of the game season, servicing a competition rig or simply giving a treasured side-by-side the care it deserves, we stock everything needed in one place. Shooting Gifts
Finding the right gift for a shooter isn't always straightforward. Generic "country lifestyle" presents often miss the mark. What an experienced shot actually values is kit that gets used in the field, or pieces that mark the sport they care about. Our shooting gifts range is built around exactly that: items chosen with real shooters in mind, from practical field accessories to more personal keepsakes. For the traditionalist, a quality hip flask is hard to beat. Leather-covered stainless steel flasks with stitched detailing are a staple for driven days, peg lunches and the long walk back to the motor. The kind of thing that gets carried for decades and only looks better with age. Pair with a pewter tankard for a set that works equally well on a country pub table or back home after a shoot. Leather goods sit at the quality end of the range, from cartridge belts and gun slip tassels through to smaller pieces like key fobs, card wallets and shot pouches. Good British and European leatherwork ages into something genuinely personal and lasts a shooting lifetime. For someone who takes pride in their kit, leather is the right direction. Books on shooting cover everything from practical field craft (stalking guides, shotgun technique, gundog training) through to more reflective reading. Shooting history, sporting memoirs and the coffee-table volumes that look at home in any shooting household. A well-chosen book is one of the safer gift bets for a shooter whose kit cupboard already has everything. For lighter gifts or stocking fillers, novelty items like shooting-themed mugs, shot glasses and bottle openers go down well with newer shots or as tongue-in-cheek presents among shooting friends. Not everything needs to be serious.

Gun Safes
Owning a firearm in the UK comes with a clear legal obligation: your guns and Section 1 ammunition must be stored securely to prevent unauthorised access. Your local firearms enquiry officer (FEO) will inspect your storage before granting or renewing your Firearm or Shotgun Certificate, and inadequate storage is one of the most common reasons for delayed licensing. Every gun safe in this category is designed to meet those expectations and keep your certificate in good standing. The relevant British Standard for gun cabinets is BS 7558. It isn't a legal requirement, but cabinets tested to this standard are widely accepted by UK police forces as evidence of suitable construction. Withstanding a five minute attack with common burglary tools. The core features to look for are 2mm steel minimum, fully welded seams, internal lock mechanisms, anti-jemmy bars on the door frame, and solid fixing points so the cabinet can be bolted to brick or concrete. Most of our safes also include a separately lockable top compartment for ammunition, which Home Office guidance expects to be stored apart from the firearms themselves. Choosing the right size is straightforward once you've thought about two things: how many guns you currently own, and how many you're likely to own in the next few years. Capacity headroom saves money long-term. Upgrading a cabinet because you've bought one more rifle is a common and avoidable expense. We stock 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 10 and 14 gun cabinets, with extra-tall models for muzzle loaders and wider internal widths for scoped rifles. Our Shotgun & Rifle Safes section covers the main household range, while Ammunition Safes provides dedicated standalone cartridge and Section 1 ammunition storage. Brand matters when it comes to firearms security. Brattonsound has been manufacturing gun safes in the UK since 1982 and remains the default choice for many firearms officers and dealers. Their Sentinel and Scoped Rifle ranges are built to BS 7558 and backed by a long warranty. Buffalo River offers excellent value in the mid-range, while Lokaway brings a distinctive shear-lock design with built-in ammunition compartments. You'll also find options from Browning and BSA across the range. Fitting is as important as the cabinet itself. A gun safe should be bolted to a solid wall or floor, positioned out of plain sight, away from external doors and windows, and ideally in a room that isn't routinely accessed by visitors. Avoid garages, sheds and outbuildings unless significant additional security is in place. If you're not sure which cabinet is right for your setup, give us a call or drop into the shop in Bromsgrove, we've been helping UK shooters through the licensing process for over 20 years and will happily walk you through the options.

Shooting Boots
Good shooting boots are one of those pieces of kit that make or break a day out. Cold feet, soaked socks or a rubbed heel can turn a well-planned stalk or driven day into something you'd rather forget. The right pair of boots, matched to the ground you shoot over, means the gear stops being something you think about at all. What you actually need depends on how and where you shoot. For stalking, particularly in Scottish terrain, the hills of Wales, or wet woodland anywhere in the UK, a proper leather stalking boot with a stiff sole and ankle support is the sensible choice. Stalking boots need to cope with side-slope walking, river crossings and long days under load, and a lighter walking boot simply won't hold up. Look for Gore-Tex membranes, a protective rubber rand and a sole firm enough to edge on a side slope. For driven game shooting, peg shooting and standing work on wet stubble or ploughed ground, shooting wellies are often the more practical choice. A decent pair of rubber shooting boots keeps you dry through the mud and grass most of the year and pulls off easily at the end of the day. Neoprene-lined wellingtons extend the comfortable temperature range considerably and are worth the extra outlay if you're out regularly in winter. Walking boots cover the middle ground, rough-shooting, pigeon decoying, foxing at distance, or clay grounds where you're on your feet but not covering serious miles. A mid-cut leather walking boot with a good membrane is enough for most UK fieldwork outside the high hills. A few things worth getting right regardless of type. Sizing, if you're going to wear technical shooting socks you need to try the boots with those socks on, because a boot that fits with thin liners will be painful with 6mm merino. Break them in, no leather boot performs on its first outing, and a full day of walking in brand-new boots is asking for blisters. Waterproofing, reproof leather regularly with a wax dressing, and check the stitching on rubber boots for perishing before the start of each season. If you're unsure what's right for your shooting, or you want to try boots on before buying, we're happy to help, either in our Bromsgrove shop or over the phone. All boots in our range are dispatched from stock for fast UK delivery.
