Description

The Benelli M4 A.I. Drone Guardian is a 12 bore semi-automatic with a 26 inch Advanced Impact barrel, built on the same M4 action that has been in British and American military service since 1999. Advanced Impact refers to a longer, wider internal cone that holds buckshot patterns together further out than a standard bore.

What you are actually looking at is a very well specified practical shotgun. The A.R.G.O. system runs a short stroke piston tapped close to the chamber and self regulates, so 70 mm and 76 mm loads cycle without you touching anything. More than two decades of hard service behind it, and a reputation for running dirty and wet.

The fore-end is black ergal carrying M-LOK slots, QD sling sockets and an integrated ACRO footprint, and a Steiner MPS red dot is supplied to sit on it. Ghost ring irons with adjustable windage and elevation sit under the rail behind it. The telescopic technopolymer stock adjusts through five positions to a 355 mm length of pull, and trigger pull is factory set around 3.3 kg. It arrives in a technopolymer case with the manual, spare parts list and a bottle of Benelli oil.

Product Information

How many cartridges does it hold?

It ships with a 2-round limiter fitted, giving 2+1. Remove the limiter and the tube takes seven 70 mm cartridges or six 76 mm magnum cartridges, plus one in the chamber.

Does it come with a red dot sight?

Yes. A Steiner MPS red dot is supplied and mounts to the ACRO footprint integrated into the fore-end.

Can I use this to shoot down drones in the UK?

No. Discharging a firearm at any aircraft, including a drone, is unlawful in the UK regardless of who owns the drone or where it is flying.

What does the Advanced Impact barrel actually do?

Advanced Impact is a patented barrel design using a longer, wider internal cone than a standard bore. The effect is to hold shot patterns together further downrange, which Benelli developed to extend useful range with heavy buckshot.

Will it cycle light target loads?

The A.R.G.O. gas system self regulates, so it handles the full range from standard 70 mm through to 76 mm magnum without adjustment. Very light loads are always worth testing before you rely on them in competition, as with any gas-operated semi-auto, but this action has a long-standing reputation for cycling almost anything.
