Description

Key Features:

  • Left-hand bolt and stock configuration: purpose-built for left-handed shooters, not a conversion

  • 20" cold hammer-forged fluted barrel with MATCH chamber for guaranteed 1 MOA accuracy (ammunition dependent)

  • 25 MOA Picatinny rail included for long-range scope zeroing without running out of elevation adjustment

  • Adjustable length of pull (351–382 mm) and height-adjustable cheekpiece for a precise, repeatable fit

  • 1/2×20 UNF threaded muzzle with cylindrical compensator supplied as standard: ready to run a moderator

  • Adjustable trigger with factory setting of approximately 2.5–3.1 lbf, tunable down to 1.8 lbf

  • 5-round detachable magazine included; 10-round and higher-capacity options available separately

Left-handed precision rimfire rifles are thin on the ground, purpose-built rifles where the entire platform, not just the bolt, is designed for left-handed operation are rarer still. The CZ 457 LRP in left-hand trim is one of them, and it's one of the more capable factory precision rimfire rifles available in the UK regardless of which hand you shoot from.

Built for shooters who want to exploit the extraordinary accuracy potential of the CZ 457 to its fullest. The CZ 457 is equipped with a 20 fluted varmint barrel and borrows the MATCH chamber that was originally exclusive to the 457 MTR. This supremely accurate barrel has a threaded muzzle (1/2x20 UNF) and is topped off with a muzzle brake.

The LRPs target-style stock bears a soft-touch finish and has a prominent pistol grip, extended forend, textured grip surfaces and a prominent rear hook designed to cradle the shooters support hand. For those desiring to add a rear monopod, a rail is also present at the toe.

Adjustability abounds, the length of pull is able to be tuned with the three included spacers (351-382 mm), while the height of the comb and the buttpad are also user-configurable.

Also included in the LRP package is a 25 MOA Weaver-style rail, an oversized bolt knob and a 5-round magazine.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the CZ 457 LRP II left-hand model have a fully left-handed stock, or is it just a left-handed bolt?

It's a purpose-built left-hand rifle throughout. Both the bolt and the stock are configured for left-handed shooters. The cheekpiece sits on the correct side and the stock geometry is designed for left-hand operation. It isn't a standard right-hand stock with a swapped bolt handle. The manual safety is a push-to-fire type on the right side of the receiver, which on a left-hand rifle sits on the non-dominant side. Most left-handed shooters find this manageable but it's worth being aware of before buying.

What's the difference between the CZ 457 LRP II and the original LRP?

The Gen 2 (LRP II) updated the stock design and refined several ergonomic details. The core specification: MATCH-chamber 20" fluted cold hammer-forged barrel, 25 MOA Picatinny rail, adjustable cheekpiece, 1/2×20 UNF threaded muzzle, carries over from the original. If you're upgrading from an original LRP, the barrel system and magazine compatibility remain the same.

What ammunition works best in the CZ 457 LRP II?

The MATCH chamber is cut to tight CIP tolerances, which means it rewards quality target-grade ammunition and can be less forgiving of bulk or low-grade fodder than a standard chamber. CZ's guaranteed 1 MOA accuracy is conditional on using suitable match ammunition. Brands commonly used by UK LRP shooters at 100 metres and beyond include SK Long Range, Lapua Center-X, and RWS Target Rifle. It's worth running an ammunition test when you first set the rifle up. What works in one LRP can differ slightly from another.

Will the CZ 457 LRP II accept the same magazines as other CZ 457 and 455 rifles?

Yes. The 457 platform uses the same magazine footprint as the CZ 455, so existing 455/457 magazines are compatible. The rifle ships with a 5-round polymer magazine. CZ also produce 10-round polymer magazines and both 5 and 10-round metal magazines, all of which fit. Higher-capacity 15 and 25-round polymer options are available from CZ as well, though these are less commonly used on a target-oriented rifle.
