Description

Key Features:

  • Green 540nm emitter reads brighter to most eyes than red at the same power draw

  • Selectable 2 MOA dot, 32 MOA circle, or both together for precision or fast pickup

  • RMR footprint mounts to any Picatinny rail via an adapter, or direct to an RMR-cut slide

  • Solar Failsafe keeps the reticle running on ambient light if the battery gives up

  • Side-loading CR1632 tray means battery changes without dismounting the optic

  • Lockout Mode stops settings drifting once the brightness is set where you want it

  • IP67 sealing and 5000G vibration rating in a 44g 7075-T6 aluminium housing

Green sits close to the peak of human eye sensitivity, which is why a green reticle usually looks brighter and cleaner than a red one drawing the same current. The 507C X3 puts that to work through a Multi-Reticle System, cycled with a long press of the minus button: a 2 MOA dot when the shot needs care, a 32 MOA circle when it needs finding fast, or both stacked for something in between.

The X3 refresh keeps the RMR footprint that made the platform worth buying in the first place, so it drops onto an RMR-cut slide or, more relevantly for most UK shooters, onto a Picatinny rail through an adapter. That covers rimfire rifles, long barrel pistols, practical shotguns and PCP air rifles equally well. At 1x with unlimited eye relief, this is a close-to-mid range sight, not a substitute for glass.

Power management is where Holosun has always earned its keep. A forward-facing photodiode adjusts brightness as light changes, Solar Failsafe supplements the CR1632 when it runs low, and Shake Awake wakes the optic on movement rather than leaving it burning through cells in the cabinet. Lockout Mode holds your settings once you've found them. The battery tray loads from the side, so a swap doesn't cost you a zero.

Adjustments run at 1 MOA per click across ±50 MOA of travel, which is coarse for benchrest work and entirely appropriate for a reflex sight. The 7075-T6 housing carries an IP67 rating and a 5000G vibration spec, and the whole thing weighs 44 grams.

Worth a look if you want the proven 507C layout with a reticle that suits your eyes better than red, particularly if astigmatism has made red dots look like starbursts.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why choose the green reticle over red or gold?

The 540nm green emitter falls near the most sensitive part of the human eye's response, so it tends to read brighter and crisper than red at equivalent brightness. Shooters with astigmatism often find green or gold cleaner than red, which can smear into a starburst. If red dots have never looked round to you, green is worth trying.

What's changed from the 507C X2?

The X3 keeps the same 507C layout, RMR footprint and Multi-Reticle System, but adds a refined housing and Lockout Mode, which locks the buttons so brightness and reticle settings can't be knocked out of place. Both the X2 and X3 are offered in green.

Can I fit this to a rifle or shotgun?

Yes. Although it's built as an open pistol optic, the RMR footprint mounts to any Picatinny rail through an RMR-to-Picatinny adapter. That makes it a practical choice for rimfire rifles, shotguns and PCP air rifles where fast, both-eyes-open shooting matters more than magnification.

How is a 507C different from a 407C?

The 407C gives you a fixed 2 MOA dot. The 507C adds the Multi-Reticle System, letting you switch to a 32 MOA circle or a circle-dot combination. Same housing, same footprint. If you know you'll only ever run the dot, the 407C saves money.
