A 1-7x low power variable with an unusually large 44mm objective and the Dispatch TAC 556 ballistic reticle, calibrated for .223 Remington and 5.56 NATO. The Vanguard Endeavor RS VII 1-7x44 runs from a true 1x for close work up to 7x for holds at distance.
Key Features:
True 1x bottom end for both eyes open shooting, running to 7x for precise holds at range
Dispatch TAC 556 ballistic reticle built around a 100 yard zero with aiming points out to 600 yards for .223 and 5.56
44mm objective, far larger than the 24mm typical of low power variables, giving a 6.3mm exit pupil even at full magnification
HOYA extra-low dispersion glass with MultiGuard coatings on every air-to-glass surface
Capped zero-reset turrets clicking in quarter MOA with 70 MOA of total travel
Multi-stage reticle illumination running on a single CR2032
One-piece 30mm 6061-T6 body, nitrogen purged and sealed against water, fog and dust
Most low power variables stop at 24mm up front. This one carries a 44mm objective, and that is the whole point of it. A scope that works at 1x with both eyes open at first light, and still has enough glass behind it to stay usable at 7x when the light goes. The trade is bulk. At 647 g it is not the featherweight option, and Vanguard specify medium-height 30mm Picatinny or Weaver rings to clear the objective bell.
The Dispatch TAC 556 reticle is built around .223 Remington and 5.56 NATO, zeroed at 100 yards, with graduated hash marks giving aiming points out to 600. It sits in the second focal plane, so those subtensions only mean anything at one magnification. The manufacturer calls this the Optimized Power Setting, and it shifts with your load. Retailers almost never mention it, and it is the one thing that decides whether the reticle earns its keep. Work out the correct power for your ammunition, mark the ring, and confirm the holds on paper at known distances before you trust them in the field.
Everything else is conventional and properly done. HOYA extra-low dispersion glass, MultiGuard coatings, a one-piece 6061-T6 tube, nitrogen purged and sealed. Turrets are capped with a zero reset, clicking in quarter MOA with 70 MOA of travel, which is ample for glass you dial once and then leave alone. There is no parallax adjustment, which is the usual and sensible omission at this magnification range.
It suits a .223 straight-pull or bolt rifle doing most of its work on foxes inside 200 yards, with reticle holds in reserve when a shot stretches. The model has been discontinued, though Vanguard's lifetime warranty still stands behind it.

No. Parallax is fixed. On a 1-7x that is normal and not something to worry about at the distances this reticle is built for.
Vanguard specify medium-height 30mm Picatinny or Weaver rings. The 44mm objective is larger than most low power variables, so check clearance on your rail before ordering.
