A do-everything 4-16x50 scope with an illuminated W-MIL2 reticle, locking turrets and side-focus parallax, built for air rifle, rimfire and light centrefire use. The WULF Lightning 30E offers glass and features you'd normally pay more for, and ships with both dovetail and Picatinny mounts in the box.
Key Features:
4-16x magnification with a 50mm objective covers everything from close pest control to range and benchrest work
Illuminated W-MIL2 etched glass reticle with a floating central dot for fast, precise aiming in poor light
XHT fully multi-coated lenses deliver a bright, sharp image right across the magnification range
Locking zero-reset turrets click in crisp 0.1 MRAD increments so you can dial and return to zero with confidence
Side-focus parallax from around 10 yards to infinity keeps the picture sharp at airgun and rimfire distances
Second focal plane design keeps the reticle a constant size at every magnification for a clean, consistent view
Supplied with both 9-11mm dovetail and Picatinny rings so the Lightning 30E mounts to most rifles out of the box
The WULF Lightning 30E is the kind of scope that makes you double-check the price. For under £170 you get a 4-16x50 optic carrying features usually reserved for glass costing a good deal more, which is why it has quickly become a popular upgrade for air rifle and rimfire shooters who don't want to remortgage to get there.
The 4-16x range is genuinely versatile. Wind it down to 4x for close pest control or a walk round the permission, or take it up to 16x for benchrest and target work. The 50mm objective and XHT fully multi-coated lenses pull in plenty of light, so the image holds up into dusk. An independent Airgun World test rated the glass above several pricier rivals, which tells you where this one sits.
At the centre is an etched-glass W-MIL2 reticle with a floating, illuminated central dot and six brightness levels, so it stays visible against dark quarry or bright targets alike. Being second focal plane, the reticle stays the same size whatever the magnification. The trade-off worth knowing: the mil markings are only exactly true at one power, usually the top end, so bear that in mind if you hold over rather than dial.
Turret feel is where budget scopes usually fall down, and this one holds its own. The locking, zero-reset turrets move in 0.1 MRAD clicks with 8 MIL per turn, and side-focus parallax pulls the image sharp from roughly 10 yards to infinity. A locking dioptre keeps your reticle focus fixed once set.
Built on a 30mm tube at 700g, it's waterproof, fogproof and shockproof, and it ships with both dovetail and Picatinny rings plus flip-up covers. Backed by WULF's Titanium lifetime warranty, it's a sensible first serious scope for air rifle, rimfire or light centrefire use.

For the money, yes. WULF sits in the budget-to-mid bracket, and the Lightning 30E has reviewed well, with an Airgun World test rating its glass above several dearer rivals. It won't stand in for a four-figure alpha scope, but for air rifle and rimfire use it offers clarity, features and build quality that punch above the price.
It's a do-everything magnification range. At 4x you get a wide field of view for closer, moving-target work like pest control. At 16x there's enough magnification for benchrest, target shooting and longer rimfire shots. The 50mm objective gathers plenty of light for dawn and dusk.
It's rated shockproof and built for use across air rifle, rimfire and light centrefire. Spring-piston air rifles are notoriously hard on scopes thanks to their two-way recoil, so a scope rated for that job is what you want. This one is.
