The A-Tec Marksman PRS Sound Moderator .30 Cal is a Cerakote-finished centrefire moderator that mounts over the separate A-Tec Marksman muzzle brake rather than threading onto the barrel, so it fits and removes in seconds without disturbing your zero. Built for hard professional use, it suits .30 calibre rifles such as .308 Win and .300 Win Mag. The brake stays permanently timed to your rifle, so you can run brake-only on the range and add the moderator for stalking or a shared firing point.

Description

Key Features:

  • Mounts over the A-Tec Marksman muzzle brake (sold separately) for a fast, tool-free fit that doesn't disturb your zero

  • Brake stays permanently timed to the barrel, with thread options from 14x1 to 5/8"-24 UNEF

  • Cerakote-finished stainless steel body pairs with a black nitrided brake for hard field use

  • Compact 44 mm diameter and 218 mm overall length, adding 155 mm ahead of the muzzle

  • Sound pressure cut by 30 dBC on A-Tec's published .338 LM figure

  • Built for .30 calibre centrefire rifles including .308 Win and .300 Win Mag

  • Same brake-and-moderator system also available in 6.5 and .338 cal for a mixed cabinet

The A-Tec Marksman PRS Sound Moderator .30 Cal takes the same over-brake approach as the rest of the Marksman range: rather than threading onto the barrel, it mounts over the separate A-Tec Marksman muzzle brake, which stays permanently fitted and timed to your rifle. That means you can run the brake alone on the range and add the moderator in seconds for stalking, foxing or a shared firing point, without touching your zero.

Built for professional and hard field use, the moderator body is Cerakote finished over stainless steel construction, while the matching brake is black nitrided to a surface A-Tec describes as diamond hard. Published figures put the unit at 44 mm diameter and 218 mm overall length, adding 155 mm ahead of the muzzle once fitted; the rest sleeves back over the brake, so the package stays compact on a long .30 calibre barrel. A-Tec quotes a 30 dBC sound pressure reduction, though that figure is measured in .338 Lapua Magnum on the maker's own data and isn't broken out separately by calibre.

Because the brake carries the barrel thread rather than the moderator itself, fitment is decided by the brake you order alongside it: A-Tec offers it in metric and imperial options from 14x1 up to 5/8"-24 UNEF. Check the thread stamped on your barrel, or in your rifle's manual, before choosing.

A solid choice for PRS competitors, long-range hunters and .308-class rifle owners who want a fast-switching brake-and-moderator system built to take a beating.

Product Information

Do I need a licence to buy the A-Tec Marksman PRS .30 Cal?

You need a valid firearms certificate covering a suitable .30 calibre rifle to hold a moderator intended for a centrefire rifle. Since 29 June 2026 it no longer needs to be listed on your certificate, no variation is required and there is no paperwork at purchase.

Will the Marksman PRS fit my rifle?

It does not thread onto the barrel directly. It mounts over the A-Tec Marksman muzzle brake, sold separately in threads from 14x1 to 5/8"-24 UNEF. Check the thread stamped on your barrel or in your rifle's manual, then order the matching brake.

Can I use the Marksman brake without the moderator fitted?

Yes. The brake stays permanently fitted and timed to your rifle on its own, and the moderator simply screws on over the top when you want it, so you can run brake-only on the range and add the moderator for stalking or a shared firing point.

How much sound reduction does it give?

A-Tec quotes a 30 dBC reduction on its data sheet, measured in .338 Lapua Magnum; it does not publish a separate figure for .30 calibre. That's a strong reduction for a centrefire moderator, but it won't make a .30 calibre rifle hearing-safe, so ear protection is still worth using on the range.
