Description

The Hawke Vantage HD 34 FFP 5-25x56 IR SF Mil Pro II is a first focal plane riflescope for shooters who want a usable 5-25x magnification range, MRAD adjustments and a reticle that stays true through the zoom range. It suits target work, practical range use and any setup where accurate holdovers, repeatable dialling and a larger 56mm objective all matter.

FFP MRAD reticle and dialling control

This scope uses the FFP Mil Pro II reticle with 0.1 MRAD click adjustment, so your reticle scale stays in proportion as magnification changes. That makes it straightforward to hold or dial without having to work around a fixed magnification setting.

The turrets are exposed, locking and resettable. Elevation travel is 32 MRAD, windage travel is 32 MRAD, and the elevation turret includes zero-stop for a clean return to your base setting after dialling on.

Optical performance and low light use

The 5-25x magnification range gives you enough bottom end for finding the target and plenty of top end for precise aiming at distance. With a 56mm objective, 11.2-2.2mm exit pupil and a field of view of 4.7 to 0.9 degrees, it covers everything from close zeroing work to slower, deliberate long-range shooting.

Red and green illumination is built in, with 5 brightness levels. Eye relief is 102mm, which gives you useful head position latitude without crowding the ocular.

Side focus, build and real-world setup

Side focus adjusts from 10 yards to infinity, so this scope is well suited to rifles that see mixed distances, including close setup and longer-range work. Parallax correction is marked from 9m to infinity.

The body is waterproof, fogproof and shockproof. It is built around a 34mm tube, so ring diameter is the key fitment point here. You need 34mm scope rings or a 34mm one-piece mount that matches your rifle base. Mount it as low as you can without the 56mm objective touching the barrel, receiver or rear sight, then check eye relief in your normal shooting position before final tightening.

Included accessories and dimensions

An XL removable zoom lever is supplied, along with metal flip-up covers and a sunshade. Overall length is 369mm and weight is 935g, so this is a full-size optic and worth pairing with a rifle and mount setup that suits its size.

Who it suits

This model makes sense for shooters who want first focal plane use, MRAD turrets and enough magnification for longer-range precision without stepping into a much heavier competition optic. It is also a sensible choice if you want exposed turrets for regular dialling, but still want locking windage to avoid accidental movement in the slip or on the bench.

Frequently Asked Questions

What mounts do I need for this Hawke Vantage HD 34 FFP 5-25x56 scope?

You need 34mm scope rings or a 34mm mount, matched to your rifle's rail or bases. Because this scope has a 56mm objective, check clearance carefully and mount it as low as possible without contact.

Is this a first focal plane scope?

Yes. It is an FFP scope, so the Mil Pro II reticle scales with magnification and the MRAD subtensions stay consistent across the zoom range.

Does this scope have zero-stop and locking turrets?

Yes. The elevation turret has zero-stop, and the turrets are exposed and resettable. Windage is locking and resettable.

How close will the side focus adjust?

It adjusts down to 10 yards, with parallax correction from 9 metres to infinity. That gives you useful adjustment for close setup work as well as longer-range shooting.

Is illumination included on this model?

Yes. The reticle is illuminated with 5 levels in red and green.
