The 507 ProMax takes the 507 Comp's Performance Reticle System and puts it behind a larger window with a forward-leaning sunshade. Built for competition, where a wide, glare-free sight picture matters more than a compact housing.
Key Features:
Performance Reticle System giving a 2 MOA dot alone, or that dot ringed by an 8, 20 or 32 MOA circle
Enlarged 1.18 x 0.98 inch window for faster transitions and easier dot tracking under recoil
Forward-leaning sunshade cutting the low-angle glare that washes a reticle out
650nm red emitter across 8 daylight and 4 night vision settings, with memory recall and lockout mode
Solar Failsafe backup and Shake Awake standby, running from a single side-loading CR1632
RMR footprint for direct fitment to RMR-cut slides, plates and adapters
7075-T6 aluminium housing, hard anodised, IP67 rated and vibration tested to 5000G
Holosun's 507 Comp has been the default competition dot for a couple of years now, and the ProMax is what happens when you put the same reticle behind more glass. The Performance Reticle System carries over unchanged: a 2 MOA dot on its own, or that dot sitting inside an 8, 20 or 32 MOA circle, selected to suit the stage rather than the shooter. What is new is the window, up from 1.1 x 0.87 inches to 1.18 x 0.98, and the forward-leaning sunshade above it.
Those two changes matter more than they read. A larger aperture makes the dot easier to find on the first look and easier to track between targets. The sunshade leans out over the glass to keep low sun off the emitter path, which is the usual reason a dot appears to wash out just when you need it. Neither is a spec you notice on paper. Both are things you notice on the clock.
Elsewhere it holds the line. The 650nm emitter runs across eight daylight settings and four for night vision, with memory recall and a lockout mode so nothing shifts mid-stage. Solar Failsafe supplies backup power, Shake Awake drops the sight to standby when it sits still, and the CR1632 loads from a side tray without unmounting. The housing is hard-anodised 7075-T6, IP67 rated, tested to 5000G, and the whole thing weighs 48 g.
One honest caveat. Windage and elevation travel is ±30 MOA, matching the Comp but well short of the ±50 on the 407C and 507C. On an RMR-cut slide or a properly machined plate that is ample. On a marginal mount it leaves you little room to correct.
Worth a look for practical shotgun, mini rifle and gallery rifle shooters who want the Comp's reticle and a better view of it.

Two things. The ProMax window is larger, 1.18 x 0.98 inches against the Comp's 1.1 x 0.87, and the ProMax adds a forward-leaning sunshade over the glass. Reticle, emitter, footprint, battery, adjustment range and weight are the same. If you already run a Comp and get on with it, the ProMax is a wider view rather than a different optic.
The 2 MOA dot alone is the precision setting. Adding the 8 MOA circle keeps things tight while giving you something to find quickly. The 20 and 32 MOA circles trade precision for speed, and suit close, fast stages where the circle guides the eye to the dot. Most shooters settle on one and leave it there.
The Trijicon RMR footprint. It mounts directly to any RMR-cut slide, and to RMR-pattern plates and rail adapters for rifles and shotguns. Check your slide cut or plate specification before ordering.
No. Solar Failsafe provides backup power and helps with brightness as light changes. The CR1632 is the primary source and gives 50,000 hours on brightness setting 6. It loads from the side tray, so a swap does not cost you your zero.
