Enclosed red dot for rifles with a large 1.26 × 0.98 in window, a switchable 2 MOA dot and 65 MOA circle, and solar-assisted power for all-day readiness.
The Holosun AEMS EVO Sight Red Dot is an enclosed rifle sight. The emitter sits behind a front lens inside a sealed housing, so rain, snow and mud thrown up in the field are kept off it rather than smearing the dot, as they can on an open reflex sight.
The integral Picatinny mount puts the dot at a 1.63 in centre height. That suits rifles with a straight-line stock, such as AR-pattern rimfires, straight-pull carbines and gallery rifle setups. On a traditional sporter with a low comb, a lower-profile reflex sight will give a more natural cheek weld.
Use the 2 MOA dot on its own for zeroing and deliberate shots. The circle-dot earns its keep on driven boar or a timed stage, where the large ring is quicker to find than a small dot. Eight daylight and four night vision settings cover a bright clearing through to shooting behind a night vision device, and lockout mode stops a knock in the gun bag changing your setting.
It is the larger option in the AEMS family. For a more compact body with an anti-reflective device built in, look at the AEMS Pro X2 instead. Prefer a different reticle colour? The green dot AEMS EVO is on the same platform, and the wider choice sits in our reflex sights range and the full Holosun range.

Holosun sells the AEMS-EVO with a red, green or gold reticle, each as its own model, and this page is the red version, AEMS-EVO-RD. Pick the colour your eye finds fastest against the backgrounds you usually shoot over. If you shoot a lot in bright sun or snow, it is worth comparing colours before committing.
The AEMS EVO has the larger window, 1.26 × 0.98 in against 1.1 × 0.87 in on the AEMS Pro X2. The Pro X2 has the shorter body, 2.2 in long against 2.68 in, and adds an anti-reflective device over the front lens. Choose the EVO for the most open sight picture, the Pro X2 if size and glare matter more.
Yes. Alongside eight daylight brightness settings it has four night vision settings, intended for use behind a night vision device. It also has an automatic mode that reads ambient light through a forward-facing sensor, so in normal daylight you can leave it to manage brightness itself while you concentrate on the shot.
It takes a single CR2032 coin cell, which Holosun rates for up to 100,000 hours. Shake Awake switches the sight off when the rifle is still and back on when it moves, and the solar panel supplements the battery in daylight. The side-loading tray means a battery change never requires removing the sight from its mount.
