The gold dot version of Holosun's third-generation 407C X3, built to the RMR footprint. A 590nm 2 MOA gold reticle holds contrast against bright targets and busy backgrounds where a red dot tends to wash out.
Key Features:
2 MOA gold dot from a 590nm emitter, holding contrast against bright targets and cluttered backgrounds
RMR footprint for direct mounting to any RMR-pattern slide, plate or adapter
Solar Failsafe panel and forward-facing photodiode keep the reticle usable as ambient light changes
Shake Awake standby wakes the optic on movement and powers down when idle
Side-loading CR1632 tray lets you change the battery without unmounting and losing zero
7075-T6 aluminium housing, hard anodised, IP67 rated and tested to 5000G vibration
1 MOA clicks with ±50 MOA of windage and elevation travel, parallax free with unlimited eye relief
The 407C X3 is the third generation of Holosun's open-emitter reflex sight built to the Trijicon RMR footprint, and the gold variant exists for a specific problem: a red dot disappearing into a red-brown backdrop or a brightly lit steel plate. A 590nm gold emitter sits between red and green on the spectrum and throws a 2 MOA dot that stays legible against exactly those backgrounds, without the visual weight of a larger reticle covering the target at distance.
The X3 revision brings a reinforced 7075-T6 aluminium housing, hard anodised, rated IP67 and tested to 5000G of vibration. Windage and elevation adjust in 1 MOA clicks across a ±50 MOA range, and with no parallax and unlimited eye relief the sight picture is forgiving of head position. Twelve brightness settings, eight for daylight and four for night vision devices, are set manually and held in memory, with lockout mode preventing an accidental change once zeroed.
Power is where this platform earns its keep. A forward-facing photodiode and the Solar Failsafe panel keep the reticle usable as light changes, Shake Awake drops the optic to standby when it sits still, and the CR1632 loads from a side tray so a battery swap does not cost you your zero.
In UK use this lands on long barrel pistols and revolvers, gallery rifles, semi-automatic rimfires and practical shotguns running an RMR adapter plate. The sight itself needs no certificate. What you mount it to probably does.
A sensible pick for a shooter who already knows they want an RMR-pattern dot and has found red hard to pick up.

The 407C gives you a 2 MOA dot and nothing else. The 507C runs Holosun's multi-reticle system, letting you switch between the 2 MOA dot, a 32 MOA circle, or both together. Housing, footprint and power system are otherwise the same. Choose the 407C if you want a clean, uncluttered sight picture.
The 590nm gold emitter sits between red and green in wavelength. It holds contrast against bright targets and complex backgrounds where a red reticle can wash out, and it reads differently to green. It is a sight picture preference, not a performance upgrade, and worth trying before committing if you can.
It mounts directly to anything cut for the Trijicon RMR footprint. That covers a large number of optics-ready slides, plus RMR-pattern plates and rail adapters for rifles and shotguns. Check your slide cut or plate specification before ordering.
No. Solar Failsafe provides backup power and helps manage brightness as light conditions change. The CR1632 remains the primary power source and loads from the side tray without removing the optic.
