Description

The Nocpix Nite Pro D50R Digital Night Vision Scope gives you a full colour image by day and carries on into the evening, so one rifle can cover a morning stalk and an evening on foxes without swapping optics.

A digital scope shows you a picture rather than a heat signature. That matters for identifying your quarry and checking what sits behind it, which is where this scope earns its place over a thermal. The trade-off is scanning. Around 15 m of view at 100 m is narrow for sweeping a whole field, so many shooters pair it with a thermal spotter and use the scope to confirm and take the shot.

The central focus wheel sits under your fingers, so you can sharpen the image without breaking position on sticks or a bipod. The polarity-free battery bay is a small thing that pays off at night, since the cell goes in either way round by feel. Zeroing runs in 0.3 MOA clicks, and the companion app stores zeroing and bullet data and handles firmware updates.

With a 3x base magnification it suits woodland stalking, field-edge foxing and pest control at sensible ranges. If most of your shots are across open ground at distance, the 70 mm Nite D70R starts at 5x and is the better fit. For closer, lower-light work, the faster lens and wider view make the D50R the one to pick. Our night vision scopes and thermal imaging ranges cover the alternatives.

Product Information

Does the Nocpix Nite Pro D50R work in complete darkness?

Like every digital day and night scope, it needs some light to form an image. The F1.25 lens and Light+ processing keep a usable picture well into dusk, but in full darkness you will need an infrared illuminator. None is included in the box, so budget for one if you plan to shoot after last light.

What is the difference between the Nite Pro D50R and the Nite D70R?

The Nite Pro D50R has a 48 MP sensor, a faster 50 mm F1.25 lens and starts at 3x, giving 15.4 x 13 m of view at 100 m. The Nite D70R has a 12 MP sensor, a 70 mm F2.0 lens and starts at 5x, giving 10 x 10 m. Pick the D50R for woodland and low light, the D70R for longer open-ground shots.

What does Target Sync do?

Target Sync lets the rangefinder's beam be adjusted mechanically to line up with the reticle. Once it is calibrated, the point you range is the point you aim at, so you can range and take the shot without re-acquiring the target. It is worth setting up at the same time as you zero the scope.

How long does the battery last?

Nocpix rates it at six hours or more at 22°C, from a built-in battery working alongside a replaceable 18650. Two 18650 cells come in the box, and the polarity-free bay takes them either way round. Cold weather and heavy video recording will shorten runtime, so carry the spare on long winter outings.
