The Wildcat Elite Moderator was designed from the ground up to be Wildcat's ultimate precision rifle moderator. The new gen 2 has the ability to fit the Wildcat muzzle brake to further reduce recoil.
The Wildcat Elite Sound Moderator Gen 2 .30 Cal is for the rifle that does the heavy lifting. A .30 calibre bore covers the cartridges most UK deer and target shooters reach for, and the magnum rating means a .300 Win Mag is as welcome as a .308. On a full-power .30, the recoil side of the design matters as much as the sound.
Being a muzzle can, nearly all of its length goes on the end of the barrel. It sits most comfortably on a rifle shot off a bipod or a high seat rail, and the weight is felt more on the sling than in the shot. Over-barrel designs in our centre fire rifle moderators range tuck more of their length back over the muzzle.
For a lighter stalking rifle, the Elite Titanium in .30 swaps the stainless for an all-titanium build and saves a good share of the weight. If magnum cartridges are not part of the plan and length matters more, the shorter Elite Compact in .30 is built the same way for standard calibres.
It belongs on a working .30 that splits its year between the range and the deer season.

Yes. Wildcat rates the Elite for both standard and magnum calibres, and the single billet stainless and titanium body is built for heavy use. A .30 calibre bore suits .300 Win Mag as well as .308 Win and .30-06, so one moderator can follow you from a target rifle to a magnum deer rifle if the thread matches.
The Elite Titanium is made entirely from grade 5 titanium and Wildcat puts it at around 40% lighter, which makes it the one to carry on foot. The standard Elite is Wildcat's precision and competition model. If the rifle spends most of its time rested rather than carried, the standard Elite is the natural pick.
On the outside they are the same, with identical length, diameter and weight. The difference is the bore, which is sized to the bullet passing through it. Choose the .30 Cal for .308 Win, .30-06 or .300 Win Mag, and the Wildcat Elite Gen 2 6.5 Cal for 6.5 Creedmoor and similar cartridges.
Yes, as long as the new rifle is in a calibre the bore suits. The thread section is not user changeable, so an authorised Wildcat dealer fits a new one with the specialist tools. It is a straightforward job, and it means the moderator does not have to be replaced when the rifle is.
Yes. Wildcat recommends removing the moderator after each use, because moisture produced when firing can collect inside and damage the barrel if it is left fitted. Take it off, let it dry, and store it separately from the rifle.
