It depends on the type of firearm. Shotguns require a Shotgun Certificate (SGC). Rifles, FAC-rated shotguns, and high-powered air rifles require a Firearm Certificate (FAC). Airguns under 12 ft/lb (rifle) or 6 ft/lb (pistol) don't need any licence in England and Wales, you just need to be over 18. Scotland requires an Air Weapon Certificate for all airguns. You can browse our stock online, but by law the sale of any firearm must be completed face-to-face. The easiest way is to visit our Bromsgrove shop, you can see and handle the gun, and we complete the paperwork there and then. If you can't get to us, we can send rifles and shotguns to a registered firearms dealer near you for collection. Airguns are also sold in-store only.

With the right certificate, you can legally own bolt action rifles, lever action rifles, straight pull rifles, and semi-auto rifles in .22 rimfire only, all held on a Firearm Certificate (FAC). Semi-auto and pump action rifles in any calibre above .22 rimfire are prohibited. Shotguns including over & under, side-by-side, semi-auto and pump action are held on a Shotgun Certificate. Most handguns have been prohibited since 1997, though long-barrelled pistols meeting minimum length requirements can still be held on an FAC.

We don't post firearms of any kind. All guns rifles, shotguns, and airguns can be purchased in-store, or we can deliver to a registered firearms dealer (RFD) near you. Your local RFD checks your certificate, completes the paperwork, and hands over the firearm face-to-face.

Yes, subject to condition and agreement. Bring your current gun to our Bromsgrove shop for a valuation, or send us photos and details for a quote. If we can agree on a price, the part-exchange value is deducted from your new purchase. We do reserve the right to decline part-exchange on any firearm.

Standard .22 pistols are prohibited under Section 5 of the Firearms Act following the 1997 handgun ban. However, long-barrelled pistols (LBPs) in .22 LR are legal on a Firearm Certificate, provided they meet the minimum overall length of 60cm and a barrel length of at least 30cm. A straight pull rifle has a bolt that pulls straight back and pushes straight forward to cycle the action there's no lift-and-turn like a traditional bolt action. This makes them faster to operate, which is why they're popular in practical rifle competitions and for deer stalking. In the UK, straight pull rifles are legal in centre-fire calibres like .223 and .308 on a Firearm Certificate. They fill the gap left by the ban on centre-fire semi-autos.

Yes. We carry a selection of used and pre-owned rifles, shotguns, and airguns alongside our new stock. Used guns are inspected before sale. Check our used guns section for current availability, or call us, 01527 831 261, stock changes regularly and not everything makes it onto the website straight away.
