A 1-8x LPVO with a true 1x bottom end for fast, both-eyes-open shooting and 8x for considered shots further out. The illuminated L4A Dot reticle offers red or green illumination on a 30mm tube with 97 mm of eye relief.
A low power variable optic (LPVO) earns its keep when the shot could come at 20 metres or 200. At 1x this scope behaves much like a red dot, usable with both eyes open and giving a 38.3 m field of view at 100 m. Wind it up to 8x and you have enough magnification for considered shots on deer or targets at typical stalking and range distances.
The L4A Dot is a second focal plane reticle, so it stays the same size through the zoom range, with holdover points calibrated at 4x. The open outer posts frame the target without cluttering it, and the centre dot can be illuminated in red or green across five brightness levels. Off positions sit between each setting, so you can kill the illumination and return to your preferred level without cycling through the lot. The dot is bright enough to stay visible in daylight, which matters on a sunny morning in a high seat.
Underneath sits the H2 optical system with 11-layer fully multi-coated lenses, a 30mm monotube and capped, low-profile turrets adjusting in ½ MOA clicks with 210 MOA of travel. Parallax is fixed at 100 yards, one less thing to think about when game is moving. Eye relief is a comfortable 97 mm, and the supplied XL zoom throw lever makes magnification changes quick, even in gloves.
At 267 mm long and 468 g it is compact for a 30mm LPVO and won’t unbalance a driven-game or straight-pull rifle. It is nitrogen purged, waterproof, fog proof, shockproof and rated for all calibres, and backed by Hawke’s no-fault lifetime warranty. A CR2032 battery, lens covers and the zoom lever come in the box.
A practical, well-priced LPVO for driven hunting, woodland stalking and practical rifle shooters who want one scope to cover close and medium range.

A 1-8x24 is a low power variable optic (LPVO), built for shooting where the distance can change quickly. At 1x it works much like a red dot for fast, close shots, and 8x gives enough magnification for considered shots further out. It suits driven hunting, woodland stalking and practical rifle shooting, where one scope has to cover both.
The L4A Dot reticle sits in the second focal plane, so it stays the same size whatever magnification you choose. That keeps the dot and posts easy to see at 1x. The trade-off is that the reticle's holdover spacing is only accurate at 4x, the power it is calibrated for.
You need 30mm rings or a 30mm one-piece mount. The 24 mm objective is small, so low or medium rings usually clear the barrel and keep the scope close to the bore for a natural head position. Make sure your rail is long enough to set the scope at its 97 mm eye relief before you tighten everything down.
Yes, at 1x. The bottom magnification is a true 1x with a 38.3 m field of view at 100 m, so you can keep both eyes open and track moving game much as you would with a red dot. Turn on the red or green illumination and the centre dot stays visible against dark backgrounds and in daylight.
