The HikMicro Falcon FQ50 2.0 pairs a 50 mm F0.9 lens with a 640 x 512 sensor for 2,600 m detection. Built for open ground, foxing and hill stalking rather than close woodland work.
50 mm F0.9 lens on the FQ50 2.0 reaches 2,600 m detection range for spotting across open ground
640 x 512 VOx sensor at 12 μm pixel pitch holds detail at the far end of that range NETD under 15 mK picks up the small temperature differences that separate a deer from cooling ground at first light
2.7x base magnification with 8x digital zoom covering 15.4 m of width at 100 m HSIS shutterless imaging removes the periodic calibration pause so the picture never freezes mid scan
Replaceable 21700 battery runs beyond 6.5 hours and swaps in the field without tools IP67 sealed magnesium alloy body rated from -30°C to 55°C
The 50 mm front end is what defines this one. It buys reach, and it costs field of view: you see further down a stubble field or across a hillside, but each sweep covers a narrower slice of it. On open ground that is the right trade. In close woodland, where contacts happen at forty yards and you want them found fast, the 35 mm Falcon FQ35 2.0 is the easier tool.
Worth being honest about the zoom. Base magnification is where this monocular does its best work and the image holds up there. Push the digital zoom past the first couple of steps and it softens, as digital zoom on a 640 core tends to. Treat it as a way to confirm what you have already found rather than a way to find it.
There is no laser rangefinder in this model. If you want ranging in the same unit, that is the rangefinding Falcon FQ50L 2.0. For most stalking and fox control, where the riflescope or a handheld unit handles distance, leaving it out saves weight and complexity.
Within the wider HikMicro range this is the reach option rather than the all rounder. It earns its place with anyone who spends more time on open hill and field edges than in timber, so deer management, foxing and pest control at distance all suit it. If most of your ground is close woodland, the shorter lens or another of the thermal spotters will serve better.

Lens and reach. The FQ50 2.0 runs a 50 mm F0.9 lens, 2.7x base magnification and 2,600 m detection, covering 15.4 m of width at 100 m. The FQ35 2.0 uses a 35 mm F1.0 lens at 1.9x for 1,800 m detection but covers roughly 22 m at the same distance. Pick the 50 mm for open ground and the 35 mm for timber.
No. Ranging is the defining feature of the FQ50L 2.0, which adds an in-lens laser rangefinder good to 1,000 m. The standard FQ50 2.0 does include a software distance measurement function, but that is estimated from a set target height rather than measured by laser, so treat it as a rough guide only.
Detection means the sensor registers that something warm is present, not that you can tell what it is. Recognising an animal as a deer happens at a fraction of that figure, and identifying sex or age closer still. The number is a useful comparison between models rather than a working range.
Over 6.5 hours of continuous use with WiFi and Zoom Pro running, from a replaceable 21700 cell. It swaps by hand without tools, so a spare in a pocket effectively doubles your session. The unit also charges over USB Type-C and will run from an external power bank while in use.
