HikMicro Lynx 3.0 LH19 thermal monocular with a 384 × 288 sub-15 mK sensor, 19 mm F1.0 lens and 900 m detection range. Pocket-sized spotter for foxing, stalking and pest control.
The LH19 is the Lynx 3.0 most people should buy first. It sits in the middle of the range, and the middle is where the compromises balance out: everything below it runs a smaller sensor and screen, everything above it trades field of view for reach. At 1.9x you see a wide slice of ground, which is what matters when you are scanning for a fox at last light or working a permission with an air rifle or rimfire.
Treat the 900 m figure as detection. A warm shape registers at that distance. Telling a fox from a cat happens much nearer, and the sub-15 mK sensor is what makes that call easier in damp air. If your ground is open and identification at long range is the job, the 35 mm Lynx 3.0 LQ35L with laser rangefinder is the better tool. For woodland and farmland, where most of what you see is within a few hundred metres, this is.
It starts in around two seconds, focus is a ring on the objective, and the body is 24 mm shorter than the previous Lynx, so it lives in a jacket pocket. The Sight app gives live view on your phone and pulls recordings off the 64 GB storage. Keep a spare 18650 in a warm pocket, since cold trims the runtime, and a full night is covered. As a handheld spotter it needs no certificate, which makes it the simplest way into the thermal category and a sensible first HikMicro.

Its detection range is 900 m, meaning a person-sized heat source registers as a warm shape at that distance. Identification, where you can tell what the animal is, happens considerably closer and depends on size, weather and background temperature.
Yes. The Lynx 3.0 LH19 brings a sub-15 mK sensor, the HSIS shutterless system so the image no longer freezes to recalibrate, Image Pro 3.0 processing, a 0.49 inch AMOLED screen and a two-second start-up, all in a body 24 mm shorter than the previous Lynx. If you own an earlier LH19, the shutterless imaging is the change you will notice first in use.
About 5 hours of continuous use at 25 degrees with the Wi-Fi hotspot on, dropping to around 4.5 hours at minus 20. The 18650 cell is removable, so a charged spare extends the night without waiting on a cable. It also accepts external power through its charging port, so a power bank keeps it running during a long sit.
