The Hikmicro Falcon 2.0 35mm is a 640x512 thermal monocular with a 35 mm F1.0 lens, 1,800 m detection and a wide 21.9 m field of view at 100 m. The FQ35 2.0 is the scanning-first option in the Falcon 2.0 range.
Key Features:
35 mm F1.0 lens on the FQ35 2.0 gives 1,800 m detection range with a 21.9 m field of view at 100 m
640 × 512 sensor at 12 μm pixel pitch resolves fine temperature differences at distance
Sub-15 mK NETD holds usable contrast in rain, fog and damp still air where coarser sensors flatten out
HSIS shutterless imaging removes the calibration pause, so the picture never freezes mid-scan
1920 × 1080 OLED display at 0.49 inches keeps the image clean under 8× digital zoom 485.5 g magnesium alloy body with IP67 sealing and a 21700 cell rated at 6.5 hours or more
3.5 m minimum focus distance and a rear focus wheel that works the same left or right handed
The 35 mm lens is what defines this one. It spreads the same sensor across a wider view than the longer Falcons, which means more ground covered per sweep and less time hunting for the animal you just heard move. On a hedge line, in woodland, or walking a lambing field at first light, that counts for more than raw reach.
The trade-off is magnification. At 1.9× base the distant heat signature stays small, and winding the digital zoom in to work out what it is costs image quality, as it does on any thermal. If most of your shooting happens beyond three or four hundred metres of open ground, the 50 mm Falcon FQ50 2.0 is the one to look at. Closer in, the wider view wins.
Read the 1,800 m detection figure carefully. It means the sensor registers something warm at that range, not that you can tell a fox from a hare, and it is worth applying the same test to other thermal optics you are comparing. Distance measurement here is stadiametric rather than laser, so if you want a true rangefinder in the same body, that is the FQ50L 2.0 with a laser rangefinder.
The rest is sensible rather than showy. The tubular magnesium shell drops into a jacket pocket, the rear focus wheel sits under the thumb whichever hand you use, and HikMicro made the 21700 cells replaceable, so a spare settles the runtime question. It suits foxing, deer management and general night scanning where you are covering ground rather than watching one spot.

Lens length, and everything that follows from it. The FQ35 2.0 uses a 35 mm lens for 1.9× base magnification and a 21.9 m field of view at 100 m. The FQ50 2.0 uses a 50 mm lens, giving more magnification and reach but a narrower view. Choose the 35 mm for scanning ground, the 50 mm for identifying at distance.
No. The 2.0 is the current generation and carries the manufacturer SKU FQ352.0. It uses a 640 × 512 sensor rated below 15 mK, a 35 mm F1.0 lens, HSIS shutterless imaging and a replaceable 21700 battery. Older Falcon FQ35 Pro listings describe a different device, so check the SKU on any listing before comparing figures.
No. The FQ35 2.0 has stadiametric distance measurement, which estimates range from a known target height rather than a laser return. It is useful for a rough figure but it is not a rangefinder. If you need a laser unit built into the same body, the Falcon FQ50L 2.0 is the model with one fitted.
Detection means the sensor registers a heat source at that range, not that you can identify what it is. Recognition and identification distances are considerably shorter, and all three fall further in rain, fog or high humidity. Treat 1,800 m as a scanning figure and expect to close the distance, or zoom, before calling the species.
The FQ35 2.0 runs on a replaceable, rechargeable 21700 cell rated at 6.5 hours or more with WiFi and Zoom Pro switched on. Because the cell comes out, a charged spare in a pocket removes the runtime limit entirely. The unit also takes power over USB Type-C, so a power bank works as a backup.
