This is the top of HikMicro's Neos range, and the one to choose if your shooting stretches beyond the garden and the barn. The extra sensor resolution over the 25 mm model is what you notice at 100 m and beyond: a fox on the far hedge stays a fox rather than a warm smudge. Detection range and identification range are different things, and 1,800 m is the former. Confident identification of quarry happens at a fraction of that, so read the figure as a measure of sensitivity rather than a shooting distance.
The layout will feel familiar to anyone coming off a conventional scope. Focus ring at the objective, dioptre at the eyepiece, three turrets on the saddle: power on the right, battery on the left, menu, record and rangefinder on top. The rotating magnetic lens cap is a small thing that stops being small at two in the morning.
One point worth knowing before you compare it against other brands. Some listings quote a 4x base, but the true optical figure is 3.2x and that is what the display shows. For close pest control the slightly wider view at 3.2x is the more useful of the two. Dedicated sub-12 airgunners working inside 40 m should look at the smaller Neos NH25L first, which shares the rangefinder and ballistic tools. For rimfire, foxing, and anyone who wants one thermal that can move onto a centrefire later, this is the model.

The NH35L has a 384 x 288 sensor and 35 mm lens against the NH25L's 320 x 240 and 25 mm, giving more detail at range and an 1,800 m detection figure against 1,200 m. Both share the rangefinder, ballistic calculator, 30 mm tube and shutterless system. Choose the NH35L for foxing and rimfire distances, the 25 mm Neos NH25L for close airgun pest control.
Yes. The body is a 30 mm tube, so any 30 mm rings or a one-piece mount on a Picatinny or dovetail base will hold it. Centre height is 32 mm, which is worth checking against your cheek weld and any moderator clearance. No adapter or proprietary mount is needed, which is one of the reasons it suits a first move into thermal.
3.2x. Some listings round it up to 4x, but the true optical base of the 35 mm lens is 3.2x and that is the figure the scope displays. Digital zoom runs to 25.6x. For pest control at short range the wider field of view at 3.2x is an advantage, so treat the lower figure as the accurate one rather than a shortfall.
Most thermal sensors recalibrate by closing a mechanical shutter every so often, which freezes the picture for a second or two. The Neos uses HikMicro's shutterless image system with the Sync Pro algorithm, so the view stays continuous. On a riflescope that matters more than on a spotter, because the freeze tends to arrive while you are tracking a moving target.
