The HikMicro Habrok Pro HQ50L pairs a 640 x 512 sub-15 mK thermal sensor with a 4K day and night optical channel, 1,000 m laser rangefinder and IR illuminator. Built for stalking and foxing.
This is the binocular for the stalker who has been carrying a thermal spotter in one pocket and a day binocular round the neck and would rather carry one thing. The thermal channel finds the animal and the optical channel confirms what it is, with a button press between them. After dark that is the difference between knowing something warm is stood at 300 m and knowing it is a roe doe.
Detection range is the figure everyone quotes. It means the sensor registers a warm object at that distance, not that you can identify it. Identification at a few hundred metres is what the 640 sensor and the fast lens are buying you, and the 4.3x base magnification with a 15.4 m field of view at 100 m suits woodland edges and open fields rather than long-range glassing.
Two things worth knowing before the first outing. The infrared illuminator only lights in Night or Auto display mode on the optical channel, switched by holding the mode button, so a unit left in Day mode looks faulty when it is not. And the beam angle knob on the illuminator is worth a turn, tighter for reach and wider for a hedgerow.
At just under a kilogram it handles like a full-size day binocular, with dioptre adjustment on each side and a fold-down eyecup for glasses wearers, and HikMicro supply a chest harness to carry it. If thermal spotting is all you need, the 50 mm Falcon FQ50L 2.0 thermal monocular is the single-channel alternative. The 25 mm Habrok 2.0 HE25L is the entry point into the same two-channel format, and both sit in the thermal category with the rest of the HikMicro range.

Detection means the sensor registers a warm object at that distance as a spot of contrast. It does not mean you can tell what it is. Recognition and identification happen much closer and depend on the animal, the weather and how much of it is showing. Treat 2,600 m as a sensitivity benchmark for comparing units rather than a working range.
On the optical channel the illuminator only lights in Night mode, Auto mode or genuine darkness. Hold the mode button to switch display modes. Day turns the IR off, Night turns it on and Auto follows the ambient light. It also stays off in the thermal channel, in standby and when the battery is low. Check the display mode before assuming a fault.
HikMicro's datasheet quotes at least 7 hours from the removable 7.2 V 4800 mAh pack with the rangefinder and Zoom Pro switched on and the hotspot off. Heavy use of the hotspot or IR illuminator will shorten that. The pack charges in the unit over USB-C, supports USB PD fast charging, and a separate charger takes packs outside the binocular.
Yes. There is a tripod adapter socket on the body and the adapter gives a standard 1/4 inch 20 UNC thread for any photographic tripod or head. With nearly a kilogram to hold at 25.8x thermal zoom, a tripod or shooting sticks make a real difference when watching a field edge for long periods.
