The Wildcat Elite Compact Sound Moderator Gen 2 6.5 Cal is a 6.5 mm bore moderator for standard .243, 6mm and 6.5 rifles, made mainly from 17-4 PH stainless steel. It suits shooters who want one moderator for PRS style competition, heavy range use and stalking.
The Wildcat Elite Compact Sound Moderator Gen 2 6.5 Cal is a 148 mm long, 44 mm diameter moderator for a rifle that gets shot a lot and where added length matters. Dual core technology and a mainly 17-4 PH stainless steel build, with 6Al-4V titanium alongside it, are aimed at the demands of competition, PRS style shooting in particular, and intense range use.
Grub screws around the muzzle end cap mark this out as a Gen 2, and that removable cap gives you two setups on one moderator. With the calibre-specific cap fitted, you have a traditional moderated setup with maximum noise reduction for stalking and general field use. Swap the cap for the RS Brake Module and you have a hybrid braked and moderated system, with significantly reduced recoil and muzzle movement while maintaining effective sound moderation. That helps you stay on target and better observe your trace and impacts.
The range also includes the longer Elite Gen 2 6.5 and the Elite Titanium 6.5, and our centre fire rifle moderators and the wider Wildcat moderators range cover other calibres. This moderator needs to be authorised on your firearms certificate (FAC). Thread options are 14x1, 15x1, 15x1 spigot, 17x1, 18x1, 18x1.5, 18x1.5 AI spigot, 1/2x28, 5/8x24, 11/16x24 and 3/4x24, so it can be matched to the threaded barrel on your range or stalking rifle.

Wildcat's chart lists .243 Win, 6XC, 6mm BR Norma, 6mm Creedmoor, .25-06 Rem, 6.5 Creedmoor, 6.5x55 SE, .260 Rem and 6.5x47 Lapua for this bore, and the series is proof tested against the charted calibres. That gives you one bore across standard .243, 6mm and 6.5 rifles.
Yes. The moderator uses a modular thread insert system, and a Wildcat dealer with the specialist tools can change the thread to suit your next rifle. That means the moderator you buy now can move on with you when the rifle changes, rather than staying with one barrel.
You can add it at any time, so it can wait until your shooting calls for it. The RS Brake is sold separately, threads directly onto any Gen 2 Elite and comes with a lock ring and Wildcat spanner. Wildcat's advice pairs the Elite Compact with standard calibres. Re-confirm your zero after any change of configuration.
The Elite Compact 6.5 is the pick for standard calibres on a rifle needing minimal added length, with the same durability and accuracy as the standard Elite in a shorter package. The Elite Gen 2 6.5 is magnum rated, for magnum 6.5 cartridges and the most intense range use. The Elite Titanium 6.5, made entirely from grade 5 titanium, suits a premium hunting build.
