HikMicro Habrok 4K 2.0 HE25L: 256 thermal sensor, 4K colour channel, 1,000 m rangefinder and rear focus wheel in one 895 g binocular. UK RFD stockist.
The idea behind a multi-spectrum binocular is simple. Scan with thermal to find what is warm, then flip to the colour channel to work out what it is. On the 2.0 that flip happens with a toggle under your thumb rather than a trip through the menu, and the focus wheel has moved to the back where an ordinary binocular keeps it, so you can hold it up one-handed and stay on the animal. Small changes, but they are the ones you notice on a cold morning with gloves on.
The thermal side is the entry point to the range. A 256 sensor behind a 25 mm lens will show you a fox or a deer well beyond any sensible shooting distance, but detection is not identification. Reckon on a positive ID at a fraction of the quoted figure and let the 4K channel do that job, which is exactly where this unit earns its keep in daylight and at dusk. After dark the IR illuminator takes over, with the discreet 940 nm unit fitted as standard and the brighter 850 nm in the box for when reach matters more than a faint red glow. If most of your work is long-range thermal at night, the 640 sensor Habrok Pro HQ50L is the stronger thermal, at more weight.
Power comes from replaceable 18650 cells, so a spare in the pocket answers a long sit, and it will run and charge from USB-C if you would rather. Add the rangefinder, GPS and compass, and the HE25L 2.0 makes a sensible single optic for stalkers, foxers and deer managers who want one thing round their neck instead of a thermal spotter plus day binoculars. Part of a wider HikMicro thermal range that starts with handheld monoculars if you already own good glass.

Yes, and that is half the point. The colour channel is a 4K camera behind a 60 mm lens with 5.5x to 22x zoom, viewed through a 1920 x 1080 OLED display. It is a digital image rather than glass, so it will not match a good pair of 10x42s for sheer clarity, but it is very usable for daytime observation and starts to pull ahead as the light drops.
The thermal detection range is 1,200 m. Detection means the sensor registers something warm at that distance, not that you can tell what it is. Identification happens much closer, and the sensible workflow is to find the heat source on thermal, then switch to the 4K channel or close the distance before deciding what you are looking at.
The chassis. The 2.0 moves the focus wheel to the rear, adds a dedicated thermal/digital toggle beside it, and uses a lighter magnesium body with HSIS shutterless thermal, so the image no longer freezes for calibration. The core numbers, a 256 sensor, 25 mm lens and 1,000 m rangefinder, carry over. If ergonomics were your gripe with the first one, this is the fix.
6.5 hours at 25°C with the hotspot and rangefinder switched on, rising to around 8 hours with the hotspot off. The cells are standard 18650 Li-ion, replaceable in the field, so a charged spare in a pocket is the practical answer to an all-night session. It also charges directly over USB-C from a power bank.
